With the Swipe of a Card

Next time you sign up for a debit or credit card, you may want to see if you can get a cause attached to it.

Bank of America has introduced an option on debit and credit cards called MyExpression Banking. It allows you to "show your passion" for a chosen organization or cause--and that cause can be environmental! Depending on the terms of the specific organization, for every purchase you make on your card, Bank of America will donate a percentage of your purchase towards your chosen recipient.

Some environmental options offered are:
Arbor Day Foundation
Brighter Planet
Defenders of Wildlife
National Audubon Society
National Wildlife Federation
Sierra Club
World Wildlife Fund

Happy spending!

  1. This seems like an exciting idea! Often times people can feel guilty after making purchases on their credit or debit card. This idea can help to lessen the guilt of shopping and strengthen the feeling of doing somthing for a cause you care about. I will tell my parents about this and when i get a credit or debit card, I will be sure to inquire about this service.

  2. This is a very good idea. First off credit cards are a eco-friendly alternative to cash because it uses less paper. But the credit card company improved their efforts to help the planet. Now people can spend their money with their head held high, knowing the fact that their help preserve Mother Earth.
